Rather than digging a continuous trench along the entire length of the existing line, plumbers can create access points to reach the old line. A heavy duty cable is then fed through the existing service line and connected to specialized pulling equipment.

Depending on the existing pipe material and conditions, the old line can be pulled out or split while the replacement line is pulled into position.

In other words, the path of the existing plumbing line helps create the path for the new one.

That can mean a very different experience for the homeowner.

Why Less Digging Matters

Digging is sometimes necessary in plumbing. We own excavation equipment for a reason.

But the goal should never be to dig more simply because we can.
